Don’t have rice cakes? No problem! You can still make delicious rabokki using just instant ramen noodles. It’s perfect as a quick meal or a late-night snack.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 2 packs of instant ramen noodles
- ⅔ stalk (about 60g) green onion
- 550ml water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
- tbsp ramen soup powder
Instructions
1. Prepare the green onion: Slice it thinly. Using plenty of green onion will deepen the flavor of the broth.
2. Make the broth: In a pot, add 550ml water, 1 tbsp ramen soup powder, 2 tbsp sugar, and 2 tbsp gochujang. Stir well to dissolve the seasoning and bring to a boil.
3. Cook the noodles: Once the broth starts boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook until they loosen completely.
4. Add the green onion: Once the noodles are loosened, add the sliced green onion and let it simmer for a bit longer.
5. Finish and serve: When the broth has reduced to a slightly thick consistency, turn off the heat. Serve immediately and enjoy.
This easy rabokki recipe skips the rice cakes but still delivers that addictive sweet, spicy, and savory flavor.
