When I dine at Hong Kong Banjeom, I usually go with the classic sweet and sour pork. But this time, I decided to try something new after hearing rave reviews about their Spicy Fried Shrimp (Kkanpung Saeu)—and I’m so glad I did.

Spicy Fried Shrimp (Kkanpung Saeu)

I didn’t count precisely, but there were over 10 plump, generously sized shrimp on the plate. At first glance, the ₩19,900 price (as of July 2024) seemed a bit steep for a side dish, but after the first bite, it felt absolutely worth it. The shrimp were freshly deep-fried to a crispy golden brown, coated in a bold, spicy sauce that perfectly complemented the juicy shrimp inside.

This dish is definitely shareable. If you're dining with one other person, ordering this along with a noodle dish should be more than enough. I left feeling full and completely satisfied.

Going forward, Kkanpung Saeu will be a must-order whenever I visit PAIK’s NOODLE. It’s a standout dish that delivers both flavor and satisfaction.
