While browsing the snack aisle at Homeplus, I came across the Simplus Perilla Oil Buckwheat Chips. I had previously tried the Simplus Soy Sauce & Wild Chive Seaweed Crunch Snack and really enjoyed its unique flavor, so I was curious to see how this new version would taste.

Taste Review
These chips resemble mini corn chips, with a sprinkle of seaweed flakes that give them an extra savory look.
At first bite, these taste like light, crispy corn chips, but as you chew, a wave of nutty, aromatic perilla oil flavor gently comes through. It’s subtle yet distinct—something that lingers pleasantly after each bite.
What I found most interesting is the aftertaste. That lingering nutty flavor reminded me so much of perilla oil buckwheat noodles, even though this is just a snack!
If you enjoy nutty, Korean-style flavors, this one is definitely worth trying.
