After sticking with Starbucks and Dolce Gusto-branded capsules for so long, I wanted to try something new—so I picked up the Dunkin’ Espresso Blend Capsules. They're made exclusively for Dolce Gusto machines and feature a blend of beans from Nicaragua, Colombia, and Papua New Guinea.

Customizable Strength to Match Your Preference

Unlike many Dolce Gusto capsules that come with fixed extraction levels, this one offers more flexibility. You can adjust the water level to make your coffee stronger or lighter, tailoring it to your personal taste.

How It Tasted

I tried brewing it as an Americano in several settings, but the flavor leaned more bitter than bold, and the aroma was a bit lacking. I had hoped for a rich, fragrant black coffee, so I was slightly disappointed.

To balance the flavor, I switched to a latte. Using Dolce Gusto’s Aroma Boost function to extract a stronger espresso and then adding milk helped tone down the bitterness and bring out some nuttiness. Still, the overall flavor felt mild and not as full-bodied as I prefer.

Final Thoughts

While the idea of trying a new capsule was exciting, the actual flavor fell short of expectations. As an Americano, it was too bitter with a weak aroma, and even as a latte, the taste remained mild and somewhat flat.

It was nice to try something different, though I’ll probably stick to my usual favorites next time.
