A quick and flavorful pasta dish with a Korean twist—made with ramen seasoning and perilla leaves.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 100g spaghetti
- 10 perilla leaves
- 6 garlic cloves (20g)
- ¼ onion (80g)
- 1 tsp ramen seasoning powder
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp salt (for boiling pasta)
Instructions
1. Prep the ingredients
Thinly slice the garlic and onion.
Roll the perilla leaves together and cut them into thin strips.
2. Cook the pasta
Boil water in a pot, add 1 tsp of salt, and cook the spaghetti for about 10 minutes. Reserve ⅓ cup of pasta water and drain the noodles.
3. Sauté garlic and onion
Heat 4 tbsp of olive oil in a pan over low heat. Add the garlic and onion, cooking until golden and slightly translucent.
4. Add ramen seasoning
Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1 tsp of ramen seasoning powder. Adjust the amount based on your spice preference.
5. Toss the pasta
Add the cooked spaghetti and reserved pasta water to the pan. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly with the seasoned oil.
6. Plate and garnish
Transfer to a serving plate. Top with the sliced perilla leaves, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and freshly ground black pepper.
