Want to make your instant jjajang ramen more satisfying? Try adding shrimp and vegetables! The sweetness of onions and the savory bite of shrimp bring depth and richness to the dish—simple ingredients, but big flavor.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 1 pack of jjajang ramen
- 10 shrimp (about 80g)
- 20g green onion
- 90g onion
- 1 Korean chili pepper (Cheongyang gochu, optional)
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- A pinch of black pepper
Instructions
1. Prep the Vegetables
Finely slice the green onion and chili pepper.
Thinly slice the onion.
2. Make Green Onion Oil
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over low heat. Add green onion and sauté until fragrant.
3. Cook the Shrimp and Vegetables
Add shrimp, onion, and chili pepper. Stir-fry over medium heat. Add a pinch of black pepper for extra aroma.
4. Cook the Noodles
While the shrimp is cooking, boil the noodles in a separate pot for 4 minutes.
5. Add the Seasoning
Once the shrimp and onion are cooked, reduce heat. Add the jjajang powder soup base and 3 tablespoons of water. Stir until the ingredients are well coated.
6. Combine with Noodles
Add the drained noodles to the pan and toss everything together lightly.
TIP
- Skip the chili pepper if you prefer a milder flavor.
