Ingredients(2 servings)
Main
- 1 medium onion
- 1 can of luncheon meat (200g)
- 2 bowls of cooked rice
- 2 green onions (scallions)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin (or cooking wine)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
1. Prep the vegetables
Thinly slice the onion. Chop the green onions into small pieces.
2. Cut the ham
Dice the canned ham into large cubes.
3. Make the sauce
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil.
4. Cook the ham
Heat 1 tsp of cooking oil in a pan and pan-fry the ham until golden and slightly crispy. Once done, transfer the ham to a plate and set aside.
Tip: To reduce the saltiness, blanch the ham briefly in boiling water before frying.
5. Cook the onions
heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium-low heat. Add the onions and sauté for about 4 minutes until translucent.
Pour in the sauce and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Fry the eggs
Cook the eggs sunny side up, or to your preferred doneness.
7. Assemble the bowl
Place rice in a bowl. Top with the cooked onions, ham, and fried egg. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
